Good morning, Wildcats! You may have noticed that we celebrate Attendance here at Washington. Here is a quick infographic that shows WHY we celebrate attendance! Being at school consistently sets our students up for educational success.
Did you know that missing as little as 2 days each month can hinder your child as they learn to read? It's a big deal! Thank you, parents, for the hard work you do to get your children here each day. You are the MVPs of your child's education!

Can you spot the fake?!! Today in Guidance we celebrated You Matter week by talking about VALUE. We all have value! We're learning to see the value in ourselves and others. Check in with your kiddo today and ask what they learned. They should be able to tell you what it means to "matter" and how we treat people like they matter! Washington kids are treating others like the REAL DEAL!

Washington is celebrating "You Matter Week" in Guidance class this week. What this means is that we are thinking about the people who love US the most (parents, grandparents, family, friends, etc.). We learn how to see the value in OTHERS and show them kindness by learning from those who love us first! For example, consider how your mom loves you and how she SHOWS love to you. Well, the other people in your classroom are loved just as much by someone else! That is because we all have purpose and value. We are learning how to be good friends by seeing the value in others and treating them with kindness.

Good morning, Washington Families!
We want to share a couple reminders to help keep our students safe during Pick-Up/Drop-Off and Lunch times.
During Pick-Up/Drop-Off:
Please do not stop or park in the crosswalks or fire lanes. In addition to that, please remember to follow all driving laws - for example, ensure your vehicle is facing the correct direction for the lane you're in.
Classroom/Lunch Visitors:
Our students LOVE having lunch visitors. Help us keep all our students safe by not brining outside food (fast food, take-out, pop, etc.) into the lunch room. If you call the day before, you can order a lunch for yourself through Sysco.
Thank you all for doing the big and little things to ensure the safety of our FAVORITE Wildcats!
Have a great Monday!

Happy Spirit Friday, Washington Wildcats!! Our building was FULL of school pride today and joyful excitement for the return of Treat Sales!
Mrs. Starostka's Kindergarten class had the highest percentage of students in Spirit Gear so they earned a FREE treat from our PTO.
Have a fun and safe weekend!

Washington Sneak Peek!
Today is Library Day and we caught a sneak peek of our 1st graders enjoying "Chickens to the Rescue" read by Mrs. Bruck. This book was written by John Himmelman. Mrs. Bruck does a great job getting students excited to read and knows ALL the books! Keep reading, kids! Readers become leaders!
