Good morning, Washington Ohana! We have a couple housekeeping items to share with you so we can keep things running smoothly in the mornings and during lunch. First, Lunch Orders: The tardy bell rings at 8:05 and teachers are required to submit attendance and lunch orders by 8:20. If your student arrives after 8:20, the office will mark them for an "A" Lunch order. The reason for this is because the kitchen orders several extra "A" Lunches in the morning to ensure late students receive a lunch. Second, if you would like to have lunch with your student at school, please call 24 hours in advance to submit your lunch choice. This helps our lunch staff plan ahead for meal numbers. Finally, if your child arrives after 8:05, please send him or her to the front doors to enter the building. This is not only for security reasons but also because there is no longer staff outside the building after 8:05. We want to keep our students safe and accounted for! Please do not knock on the side doors to gain entrance. All teachers and staff should not be leaving their posts at this time. Thank you for raising great kids! It's much easier to keep things running well if we share all this information with you as parents rather than expecting students to remember. Have a great day!

Happy Friday, Washington Ohana!! We will celebrate Red Ribbon Week next week so Mrs. Simmons' Guidance lesson today provided an introduction to what Red Ribbon Week is all about! Check in with your child(ren) to see what they learned - from medicine safety to knowing if something is safe to touch/eat to natural highs - these students have already learned SO much! (Note: This picture isn't from today but every time I see it, I'm overjoyed by how full of life our students are!) This is how excited we are about next week! We had SO much fun racing ducks, playing games, going on a wagon ride, picking pumpkins, riding the pumpkin ride, bouncing in the castles, sliding down the big slides, playing in the corn box, and getting to pet the animals! We wish we could have spent the whole day there! Thank you to Dusty and his team for making it a fun experience for us all!” -Miss Folchert
