📰 From the Washington Preschool Times 📰
"Preschool was proud to host the parents for The Little Feet Meet! The students had so much fun being the teachers to the parents and getting to explore the playground together. We also had a special surprise at the end where the students got to pie Miss Folchert in the face! It was a great way to end such a wonderful event. Thank you to everyone who came and made this year so special! We truly have the best kids and parents around!" -Miss Folchert

Wildcat WINNING! Check out this traveling trophy award made by Owen Phillips, Washington 3rd grader!! During Guidance class, Mrs. Simmons always picks a "Hidden Hero." She watches this student throughout the class. If he or she is following expectations (Washington Way), that student gets a Simmons Starbuck and earns a point for his or her class.
Owen used his 3D printer to make this awesome traveling trophy for his class so the Hidden Hero can have the trophy for a week! What a brilliant and thoughtful idea!!
"Green Award" - we use the Zones of Regulation. Green Zone means you're calm and ready to go (learn)!
Thank you, Owen (and parents)!!!

Washington's 5th Grade Ambassadors' Last Meeting was this afternoon. Oh, how I'll miss them! Chloe's mom provided delicious cookies, they wrote a letter to next year's 5th Grade class with words of wisdom and encouragement, then we finished off with a Snowball fight! (See Facebook for video)
Each student wrote 3 unique things about him or herself and crumpled it up. A snowball fight ensued. Then they grabbed a random snowball, read the 3 things and guessed to whom it belonged.
This class has a LOT of character, talent, and joy. I can't wait to see them go on and blossom 🤍

Our 5th graders had a busy couple of days last week and we couldn’t be more proud! DARE Graduation, Presidential Awards, and DARE Day!
Congratulations to Washington's newest DARE program graduates! DARE is a drug abuse prevention education program intended to provide students with the skills needed to resist peer pressure to use tobacco, drugs, and alcohol.
Aria Will was the DARE Essay Contest winner. Her essay was shared with her class, staff, and families in attendance. Congrats, Aria’

Attention Budding Entrepreneurs!
Washington's 1st graders had a special visitor yesterday from the North Platte Chamber of Commerce!
Mr. Cody Johanson shared about some of the new businesses that are coming to North Platte and how KIDS can become entrepreneurs. They got to hold, see, and smell corn board, which is used to make pallets. He also let each student try the new beef chips that will be coming to North Platte. They were the first ever to try these specific chips!
North Platte has some exciting things coming and these students were eager to learn how they can grow, network, and build alongside our awesome community.
The students were even given the opportunity to open an account with First National Bank and automatically receive $25 to get them started!

Attendance at Washington continues to improve. Thank you for prioritizing education!
