Fall, Friday night lights, and a hometown football win for NPHS Bulldogs!

Mr. Bruck and our Student Council member recognized Mr. Keith Lloyd as the NPHS Student Council September Teacher of the Month

Yesterday, the Bulldogs competed at the Gothenburg Invite. After a good meet in Kearney at the pre-state meet Monday, our top 5 boys and girls runners did not race today. Our JV runners stepped up big today and filled their Varsity roles. It’s a tall task stepping up from Junior Varsity to Varsity to battle against other teams varsity teams, but both teams battled tough and competed at a high level. With 15 teams in attendance, the boys came away with a 5th place team finish and the girls finished in 4th place. The boys were led by Luke Tegtmeier who finished 9th. The girls had three medalist on the day with Shelby Steele finishing in 16th, Theran Nitsch in 17th and Olivia Dobesh finishing in 18th place. The Bulldogs will be back in action in Sidney next Thursday. Results of the meet are below:

Both the boys and girls North Platte cross country teams competed yesterday in Hastings, Nebraska. The both competed well and the boys came home with a runner-up team finish, losing a close team to a good Hastings team by five points. The girls battled hard and came away with the team championship, making this their third invitational win of the year.
Jake Hasenauer was proud of how both teams competed today and worked hard for their teammates. This meet was another part of the process. There is still growth to be made and things to continue to learn, but lot's of good things to celebrate as well. Leading the girls to their championship today, was led by a 1-2 finish from Marissa Holm and Zarah Blaesi, followed by medalist Jada Hothan 9th, Jenessa Arnold 12th, and Haylie Hoatson 15th. The boys runner-up finish was led by a 3rd-4th place finish from Rian Teets and Quade Lowe, followed by medalists, Aiden Hawks 7th, Gabe Jenny 12th, and Oban Sandoval 14th. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday at the pre-state meet in Kearney, Nebraska.
