Kicking off the school year with a week’s worth of fun!
The North Platte Public Schools Foundation invites community members and NPPS alumni to join current students, parents, and staff of the North Platte Public Schools in celebrating our upcoming 2021-22 school year with a Back 2 School Bash, from Monday, August 23, through Friday, August 27. Help us raise funds to support our schools and programs, while honoring the hard work and achievements of our students, athletes, teachers, staff members, and Distinguished Alumni.

MONDAY, AUGUST 23
Change Wars
Let the change wars begin to support your school!
All elementary students will compete to collect the most change — online donations accepted. Classrooms from each grade across the district compete with classes from other schools to raise the most change. Each winning class will be honored with a march around the NPHS Track, as well as braggin rights for the building/campus with the most change raised. 50% of the money collected will go back to each school, while the other 50% will support Foundation programs that benefit students and educators across the district.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 24
Dine Out to Donate
Area restaurants will be giving 10-15% back to help benefits students and educators in the North Platte Public School District. Each principal/building, including Early Childhood, Adams, Madison and NPHS, will receive money to be used for their wish list items. (Check back soon for a full list of participating restaurants.)
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25
Online Auction
Our online auction supporting the Foundation and its programs begins Wednesday, closing Friday, Aug. 27, at 8:45 p.m. Stay tuned for more information!
FRIDAY, AUGUST 27
The Main Event: Bulldog Backyard BBQ, Staff Awards, Distinguished Alumni, and Education After Hours
BACKYARD BAR-B-Q COMPETITION
NPHS Parking Lot, 4:30-6:30p.m. $10 at the gate. Judges will be judging three categories: beef, chicken/pork (white meat), other (sides and/or desserts) and you will choose fan favorite. Fan favorite will be $1=1 vote, and the booth/competitor with the most money will be awarded “FAN FAVORITE!” There will be some very special guests attending the festivities — the 2020-2021 Staff Award Winners will take the stage at 6 p.m., and the 2020 and 2021 Distinguished Alumni will be recognized at halftime of the Bulldogs vs. Aurora Huskies football game, before heading off to Education After Hours.
EDUCATION AFTER HOURS
Prairie Arts Center at 416 N Jeffers, $25/ticket. Recognition of the Distinguished Alumni for 2020 (Retired Captain Ronnie Baker ‘61, Reverend Doctor Richard Hansen ‘70, and Cheryl (Edis) Erickson ‘62) and 2021 (Gilbert ‘Gil’ Wilkinson ‘60, Deborah Murphy ‘68, and Marvin Webb ‘65). There will be a live auction and we will close out the online auction at 8:45 p.m. to announce the winners at the event. Ticket sales benefiting the Future Distinguished Alumni Scholarship. This scholarship will go to a 2022 NPPS graduate, voted on by their peers as the most likely to be a future Distinguished Alumni. Click the button below for more information and tickets.
