Mrs. Christmann's first grade class shows kindness.

Our school proudly participated in The Great Kindness Challenge, a week-long program dedicated to creating a culture of kindness and compassion in communities worldwide.  To help our students " practice kindness" and put their compassion into action, they used a kindness challenge checklist.  Many of our students choosing to log over 50 various acts of kindness. Using a kindness checklist, students accept the challenge and show the world that kindness matters. We learned that together we will lift each other up, cheer each other on and show the world that kindness does matter!

Pictured is Mrs. Christmann's first grade class. They read and discussed the book Be Kind by Pat Zietlow Miller. The students then brainstormed various ways to show kindness as the teacher scribed on the whiteboard. To make their I Can Be Kind flowers, each child selected individual acts of kindness from the list and wrote them on the petals. As a culminating activity, each child shared their kindness choices.
