NPPS – Superintendent Named

 

North Platte, Neb. – After an exciting week of interviews, the North Platte Board of Education is pleased to announce they have selected Dr. Todd Rhodes for the next superintendent of North Platte Public Schools. Dr. Rhodes, the current superintendent of Gothenburg Public Schools, will begin the transition process this spring and join the NPPS team in his new role on July 1, 2022.

The decision to offer the position to Dr. Rhodes was formalized unanimously in a special Board of Education meeting held on Friday, December 17, 2021. Dr. Rhodes verbally accepted the job on a call during the meeting. Board president Skip Altig stated, ‘this unanimous decision was solidified with excitement from all six board members after reviewing the feedback from each interview committee.’ Altig went on to add, ‘each group expressed similar themes in Dr. Rhodes’s responses, and we are all excited to see his student-focus, growth mindset in action.’

During his interview, Dr. Rhodes shared his vision to continue a growth trajectory while focusing on the current strategic plan developed by current superintendent Dr. Ron Hanson. In an interview with Hanson, he stated, ‘I look forward to working with Dr. Rhodes to make a smooth transition of the superintendent position.’ Hanson went on to add, ‘it has been an honor and pleasure to serve as the superintendent for North Platte Public Schools, and I congratulate Dr. Rhodes as he takes the helm.’ Dr. Hanson will continue his tenure as NPPS superintendent to June 30, 2022.
