NPHS Mobile Food Pantry Tuesday, October 14! Please start the line outside the school parking lot next to the tennis courts. Do not come into the parking lot prior to the semi unloading of the distribution items. This is an open air, drive thru distribution. Patrons will drive their car through a line, and volunteers will bring boxed food to the car. Free of charge. 325 households will be served on a first come, first serve basis. The Food Bank of the Heartland sponsors the Food Pantry. #NPPSCanteenSpirit
NPPS McDonald Elementary Honored with Blue Ribbon Distinction
North Platte Public Schools is proud to announce McDonald Elementary as a Blue Ribbon Distinction School for 2025-2026. This recognized distinction from the U.S. Department of Education highlights the school’s outstanding academic achievement and commitment to student success.
The Blue Ribbon honor celebrates schools that demonstrate consistent excellence, and make progress in closing gaps in student achievement. In order to be eligible, a school must be nominated by state liaisons, and have letters of support submitted on its behalf. McDonald Elementary was nominated for recognition as an exemplary high performing school.
An assembly was held at McDonald Elementary on October 10th to surprise students and staff and celebrate their achievement. McDonald Elementary Principal, Kim Flanders, is excited for her team, as this recognition was made possible through the efforts of staff, students, and community throughout the years.
Congratulations to the McDonald Mustangs for earning this prestigious recognition.
