North Platte Public Schools

North Platte Public Schools Teammates Mentoring Program has actively taken full advantage of the READ grant program. This has provided mentors to mentees to help raise reading proficiency, added book vending machines for better access to reading materials for students, and is now having Nebraska astronaut Clayton Anderson visit 4th and 5th graders from Eisenhower and Jefferson. Clayton Anderson has his own children's book, "So You Want to Be an Astronaut." During the assembly, students learned about the jobs of an astronaut, facts about space, and the importance of doing your best in school.
