Lisa Utterback talking on stage to NPPS staff

On Thursday, August 9th, North Platte Public Schools staff returned to work, which means school is just around the corner! Teachers were able to work in their rooms during the morning, then came to the high school for lunch. The afternoon was spent in the Performing Arts Center (with the new lighting system in full display). NPHS teacher, Mr. Jimmie Pack, welcomed everyone back, the Blue and Gold Singers sang the National Anthem and performed songs from the Barbie movie, the Pacers and Cheerleaders performed their routines, and led everyone with the Bulldog Fight Song.

Mrs. Terri Burchell recognized the 2024 employees of the year while showing the wonderful things the NPPS Foundation is doing to support our students and staff. Superintendent of North Platte Public Schools, Dr. Todd Rhodes, recognized the Board of Education, and shared the importance of the work we are doing with students. Lisa Utterback visited North Platte as the keynote speaker and shared a powerful story about how everyone in the auditorium is an educator and every person's actions, no matter how small, can have an enormous impact on others, which has a ripple effect.

It was a perfect start to a school year, and everyone is excited for students to be back in the buildings.
