School Safety
Raptor Visitor Management
The North Platte Public School District uses the visitor management system (Raptor) in all of our schools for all visitors. The Raptor system tracks visitors, contractors, volunteers, student check-in/out, and provides us with a safer, more monitored environment for our students and staff.
Upon entering a building, all visitors are asked to report to the office and present a valid state-issued driver’s license, which will be entered into the Raptor system to issue a badge identifying the visitor's name and the time and date of their visit. The system has the ability to provide alerts on people who may jeopardize the safety of our school. Guests will return the badge before exiting the building and be signed out of the system. The visitor will report to the office, state his/her name, and a badge will be printed from the individual’s information already in the system.
If you are interested in learning more about the visitor management system, please visit the Raptor Technologies website (www.raptorware.com).
The safety of our students is our highest priority, and the Raptor visitor management system provides a consistent way to aid in that process. Thank you, in advance, for your understanding and support of enhancing school safety protocols in our district.

STANDARD ® RESPONSE PROTOCOL
The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) provides consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff, and first responders for all hazards. It is action-based and allows organizations, first responders, students, and parents to share a specific vocabulary for quick and coordinated action. It also acts as a tool for training which develops the muscle memory necessary to respond appropriately in moments of crisis.
The SRP is based on five actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.

Nebraska Family HELPLINE
Department of Health and Human Services
The Nebraska Family Helpline at (888) 866-8660 makes it easier for families to obtain assistance by providing a single contact point 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Trained Helpline operators screen calls to assess immediate safety needs, identify the potential level of a behavioral health crisis, make recommendations or referrals to appropriate resources, and help callers connect to emergency resources or providers. The Helpline is supervised by licensed mental health professionals.
Family Helpline operators also can connect eligible families to the Family Navigator Service. This service helps families move through Nebraska's child- and family-care system more efficiently to get the assistance they need. Available within 24 to 72 hours after a Helpline referral, Family Navigator helps families identify existing community-based services and provides support from people who have had personal experience in the system.
